Overview

Bangladesh joined ADB in 1973. Cumulative lending amounts to about $12.1 billion for 212 loans, with $202.7 million for technical assistance grants for 363 projects. The country is one of the largest borrowers of concessionary Asian Development Fund resources.

Bangladesh and ADB have forged a new Country Partnership Strategy (CPS) for 2011-2015. The overarching objective of ADB support will be to contribute to the government’s Sixth Five-Year Plan goals and commitments for enhancing growth and reducing poverty.
