Overview

Papua New Guinea (PNG) joined ADB in 1971. It is the largest public sector borrower in the Pacific region. In August 2010, ADB and the Government of PNG agreed on a new country partnership strategy, 2011–2015. The strategy was developed in close consultation with the government and other stakeholders, and is well-aligned to the government’s Development Strategic Plan, 2010–2030 and the Medium-Term Development Plan, 2011–2015.
